The motto of this year's Puente Viesgo Spa stand is \u00abPUENTE VIESGO WHERE YOUR BOOKS ALSO BREATHE\u00bb a motto that unites the centuries-old tradition of the thermal waters with the tradition of culture that is implicit in the spa since since ancient times different cultures (Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Arab...) have used the thermal waters (called bath houses, spas, .......) as meeting points and dissemination of culture together with the physical care of the body.) as a meeting point and a place for the dissemination of culture and the physical care of the body.<\/p>\n
There have been many \u201cag\u00fcistas\u201d (literary figures, researchers, historians,...) who have enjoyed the benefits of the thermal waters: The Marquis of Comillas, important patron of the arts such as Antonio Gaud\u00ed, who helped to spread Catalan modernism in Comillas, Benito P\u00e9rez Gald\u00f3s, who said that \u201cPuente Viesgo is a paradise\u201d, Marcelino Men\u00e9ndez Pelayo, philologist, historian, literary critic, ...among others.<\/p>\n

From Friday 30 May until Sunday 15 June, the Puente Viesgo Spa will have a decorated stand with the slogan \"The Spa in Puente Viesgo\". \u00abPuente Viesgo, where your books also breathe\u00bb,<\/strong> slogan that unites the centuries-old tradition of the thermal waters with culture.<\/p>\n During the 17 days of the Madrid Book Fair, I\u00f1aki Bedia, from the marketing and public relations department, will be present to personally attend and advise visitors and where we will give full information about the thermal waters, their properties, the services and treatments we offer as well as the different accommodation promotions and the tourist resources of the region and in particular of the Pasiegos Valleys and Puente Viesgo, where the jewel of the Caves of Monte Castillo stands out.<\/p>\n In addition to publicising the Puente Viesgo Spa, we always take the opportunity to publicise all the region's tourist resources, as the dissemination of culture and cultural heritage, which is very extensive, make Cantabria an ideal destination for holidays, where you can alternate relaxation with tourism.<\/p>\n As in previous years during the Madrid Book Fair we will have the III Short Story Competition of the Puente Viesgo Spa, whose main objective is to develop and promote the culture of the environment of Puente Viesgo together with the welfare of our most precious element such as the Thermal Water and which will have to deal with the Spa and its surroundings, the jury being composed of institutions and people, all of them linked to the world of Culture such as: the Director of the Madrid Book Fair, Ms. Eva Or\u00fae, the well-known and famous writer Ms. Mar\u00eda Oru\u00f1a, the Mayor of the Town Hall of Puente Viesgo, Mr. Oscar Villegas and the Manager and owner of the Spa, Ms. Oscar Villegas, and the Manager and owner of the Spa, Ms. Mar\u00eda Oru\u00f1a. You can consult the rules of the III Puente Viesgo Short Story Competition in the attached file. The deadline for submitting entries is 8 July and all stories must comply with the requirements indicated in the rules. After the Jury has read the works submitted, the decision will be made public on 31st July and the winning story will be awarded a prize of a stay in the \u00abRelax Weekend\u00bb programme for two people with buffet breakfast and one access per person to the thermo-ludic circuit of \u201cEl Templo del Agua\u201d for 2 hours and to the \u201cCircuito C\u00e1ntabro\u201d for 50 minutes. A wonderful wellness prize for the deserving winner.<\/p>\n
