The benefits of thermal physiotherapy

The Puente Viesgo Spa has updated its physiotherapy services, offering both guests and outpatients the most effective and precise therapies available in physiotherapy today. All of them together with the use of the mineral-medicinal thermal water, The spa's mainstay, for the treatment of different pathologies.

The aquatic physiotherapy is carried out in the thermal pool, for individual use with the patient. The properties of our thermal waters (mineral-medicinal composition, heat and flotation) allow mobility and strength to be worked on in an environment with minimal gravity.

Its use is an ideal approach to:

  • Post-surgical recovery, facilitating muscle re-education without impact.
  • Reduction of joint pain in the joints
  • Improving balance and proprioception in a safe environment for your rehabilitation

In addition, we add the most cutting-edge techniques of current physiotherapy.

  • Diathermy (tecartherapy). Instrument used to accelerate the biological processes of repair and de-inflammation. It is based on the transfer of energy to generate internal heat to treat both superficial and deep muscles.
  • Intratisular Percutaneous Electrolysis (PIE). Effective solution for conditions such as tendinopathies, fibrosis or muscle ruptures. It is used under ultrasound guidance, applying microcurrents to the damaged tissue.
  • Dry needling. Using a needle, the aim is to relax the trigger points or contractures present in the muscle. The use of TENS type current can be added to enhance the analgesic effect and muscle relaxation.
  • Percutaneous Neuromodulation (PMNe). Technique used for the treatment of neuropathic pain and improvement of muscle function. It consists of electrical stimulation of the peripheral nervous system to modulate the pain signal.

The key to the effectiveness of our therapies lies in the use of the Ultrasound. This equipment allows our physiotherapist to assess the area to be treated on the spot and to guide the application of advanced techniques in real time.

This translates into maximum safety and a higher success rate in the treatment of complex injuries, tendinopathies and chronic pain.

If you suffer from pain that does not improve with conventional treatments or you need a precise functional recovery, we invite you to consult our specialist physiotherapy team.
