Naturea Cantabria
Naturea Cantabria is the Programme for the promotion and maintenance of Public Use in Protected Natural Spaces promoted and financed by the Directorate General for the Natural Environment of the Regional Ministry for Rural Affairs, Fisheries and Food of the Government of Cantabria.
A wide range of nature interpretation activities and a specific Environmental Education programme are the tools used to fulfil its fundamental objectives: nature conservation and Rural Development. The Cantabrian network of rural development and its partners, the Local Action Groups, have extensive experience in implementing projects that pursue these same intentions.

Throughout the year, each one of the Interpretation Centres attached to this programme, one of them located in the old station of the old railway line El Astillero-Ontaneda, offers a wide variety of Nature Interpretation Activities in protected areas, with proposals for all kinds of audiences and adapted to every season of the year. In addition to this programme, important environmental maintenance work is also carried out.
