Visit the new Cantabrian Cave Art Centre in Puente Viesgo.

The new Cave Art Centre, a place of information and reception for visitors who want to enjoy the great heritage of cave art in the region, and learn about this exceptional legacy that we treasure, which includes ten caves declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

The new C.A.R. of Puente Viesgo is made up of three spaces articulated around a semi-open courtyard, built with pure materials such as concrete and stone that are fully integrated with the natural surroundings and the landscape.

In the first phase, visitors will be able to enjoy the temporary exhibition on the “Red Lady” discovered 26 years ago in the El Mirón cave in Ramales de la Victoria, which is on display for the first time, and which consists of a burial from the Lower Magdalenian period, and whose study reveals data on the diet, mobility, ways of life and genetic origin of a woman who was the object of a complex funerary ritual at this site.

From the Public Relations department on 942598061 (ext. 1) we can help you to arrange your visit and pre-book your tickets to the Caves of Monte Castillo, the Castle and the Coins.
